The Prosecutor's Office demanded the seizure of the property of Vice-Governor Galas of Kuban.

The lawsuit for the seizure of property worth more than 970 million rubles belonging to the Vice-Governor of Krasnodar Krai Igor Galas was filed by the General Prosecutor's Office of the Russian Federation.

The Lenin District Court of Krasnodar accepted for consideration the lawsuit for the transfer of property to the state, which belongs to the family of the First Deputy Governor of Krasnodar Krai Igor Galas and related persons.

The lawsuit was filed by the General Prosecutor's Office of the Russian Federation. The reason for its filing was the identified violations of anti-corruption legislation in Galas's actions. The agency claims that during his tenure in publicly significant positions, he acquired property worth more than the legal income of his family, and also unlawfully participated in entrepreneurial activities either personally or through controlled persons, writes Kommersant on October 16.

This property, the agency continues, was registered in the names of close relatives and trusted persons. As a result, over 18 years of holding the mentioned positions, Galas, his relatives, and trusted persons acquired rights to 63 movable and immovable property objects with a total market value of over 970 million rubles. Part of this property has currently been alienated through real and fictitious transactions aimed at concealing the property.

In addition to the First Vice-Governor, 13 other individuals became defendants in the civil lawsuit.

Earlier, "Caucasian Knot" reported that on October 15, the Prosecutor's Office of Krasnodar Krai filed a lawsuit for the confiscation of property belonging to former Vice-Governor of Kuban Alexander Nesterенко in the amount of 20.5 million rubles; Nesterенко had previously been sentenced to 9 years in a penal colony for exceeding his official powers.
