The former ataman and his son are accused of land embezzlement in the Rostov region.

The Rostov Regional Court will hear the case of the former ataman of the Cossack society "Stanytsa Olginskaya" and his son, accused of embezzling land worth 850 million rubles.

The Aksai District Court of the Rostov Region has set a date for the court hearing in the criminal case of the former ataman of the Cossack society "Stanytsa Olginskaya" Alexey Reznikov and a member of this society, his son Roman Reznikov.

According to the investigation, the suspects, together with other individuals, illegally acquired a land plot of 750,000 square meters through deception and abuse of trust between 2015 and 2016. The plot belonged to the administration of the Olginskoye rural settlement. These actions caused damage to the administration and the Cossack society "Great Don Army" amounting to 854.7 million rubles.

In turn, Roman Reznikov, according to the investigation, from September 12, 2018, to August 25, 2025, divided and transferred the specified plot to relatives. The value of the legalized property amounted to over 844.4 million rubles, reports "Interfax."

Alexey Reznikov is accused of fraud by an organized group or in a particularly large amount 1 . Roman Reznikov is additionally charged with the legalization of property acquired by a person as a result of committing a crime 2 , reports RBC.

The accused have been taken into custody, and their property has been seized for a period of six months. The court hearing for this case is scheduled for September 30, 2026.

"Caucasian Knot" also reported that in mid-July, the criminal case of the former vice-governor of Kuban, former ataman of the Kuban Cossack Army Alexander Vlasov, accused of large-scale fraud and abuse of office, reached the court.
