Eight people were injured in the attack by unmanned boats in Sochi

Medical assistance was required for eight people after the attack by unmanned boats in Sochi, five of whom were hospitalized. The explosion damaged part of the Primorsky embankment.

The attack by unmanned boats on Sochi occurred late in the evening on September 9. Sochi Mayor Andrey Proshunin reported several injured at 23:38 Moscow time, noting that the threat of unmanned boats in the city remains.

“According to preliminary data, several people were injured, and they received the necessary medical assistance. The injuries are not life-threatening,” the official wrote on his Telegram channel.

The operational headquarters of the Krasnodar region, in turn, reported the number of injured: medical assistance was required for eight people, of whom five were hospitalized.

According to authorities, as a result of the unmanned boat attack, the beach infrastructure and a section of the Primorsky embankment were partially damaged. “Operational and special services are working at the scene,” the operational headquarters added.

Monitoring Telegram channels published a video of the explosion at the embankment. Judging by the recordings, there were quite a few people on the embankment before the incident; upon hearing gunfire nearby, some left the danger zone. The explosion occurred near a coastal restaurant, where people were also present.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", on the night of September 4, Sochi residents were forced to spend several hours in shelters due to a drone attack. According to residents, this was one of the most massive attacks. Later that day, police and FSB officers detained a 37-year-old Sochi resident who posted a video of the air defense systems online.

In the Krasnodar region, a ban on the dissemination of information about drone attacks and their consequences, filming the operation of air defense, military facilities, and critical infrastructure has been in effect since September 2025. In December 2025, the authorities of Kuban introduced fines for filming air attacks and the operation of air defense. A corresponding bill from the regional legislative assembly has been published on the "Caucasian Knot".
