Krasnodar residents pointed out to the authorities the unresolved issue with shelters from drones.

More than six thousand basements in apartment buildings in Krasnodar have been checked for suitability as shelters, reported Mayor Evgeny Naumov. Residents, commenting on his report on social media, pointed out that some basements remain closed, and some rooms designated as shelters lack ventilation and a safe exit.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", on August 30, a resident of Krasnodar criticized the equipment of the shelter from drones in the basement of her building, while other residents reported that in some buildings such rooms do not exist or the management companies refused to equip them.

The Mayor of Krasnodar Evgeny Naumov reported on September 7 in his Telegram channel that administration staff, together with management companies, are checking the basements of apartment buildings that are used as shelters from drones.

"I was informed that more than 6000 basements of 6960 apartment buildings have been checked," Naumov wrote.

Specialists are also checking the availability of information on actions during an air threat, those responsible for the keys to the shelters, and signs leading to them. If management companies do not eliminate the identified deficiencies, the mayor's office contacts the prosecutor's office, Naumov indicated.

The mayor's report was also published by the Telegram channel "Krasnodar Teletype", which has about 126 thousand subscribers. As of 12:40 MSK on September 8, this post received 19 user reactions and 10 comments.

Krasnodar residents complained that the basements that should be used as shelters remain closed or are absent. "What good are shelters if they are closed?" wrote Andrey.

"We don't have a basement in our building at all, where are we supposed to go?" asked user T. K.

"I wonder if our management company will take action? We have no basements and were told: let the administration build shelters," complained Irina.

Other users doubted that the checked basements are truly suitable for safely sheltering people. "A basement is not a shelter, dear administration! There is no ventilation, pipes everywhere, and the height often does not reach human height. Why are you sending people there? To boil them in case of a hot water pipe burst? So they suffocate there? One entrance and it’s also the exit," noted Tanya.

As of 12:40 MSK on September 8, there are no comments on the Krasnodar administration's website regarding residents' complaints about the inaccessibility and unsuitability of the basements designated as shelters.

Recall that on August 20, the authorities of Krasnodar reported that they mandated management companies to equip basements for sheltering people and ensure access to them, however, residents pointed out the formal approach to preparing shelters and the unsuitability of some rooms. On August 24, during a drone attack, residents complained that they could not access the basements designated as shelters.
