The abundance of seaweed on Anapa's beaches has raised questions about their cleanup.

Anapa's beaches are covered with seaweed, bloggers report. Authorities are not cleaning the entrance to the sea from seaweed, commentators pointed out.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", the work on pumping out fuel oil from fragments of the tankers "Volgoneft-212" and "Volgoneft-239", which sank as a result of a crash in the Kerch Strait in December 2024, has been completed. Permits from Rospotrebnadzor have already been received for 111 beaches in Anapa. Earlier in August, satellite imagery from Planet recorded the continuation of the leak of oil products from the sunken tankers "Volgoneft" in the Kerch Strait. The beach in Anapa is covered with seaweed, and the entrance to the sea is marshy, according to a video from an Anapa blogger. The beaches have been spoiled after being filled with imported sand, commentators pointed out.

Andrey Makovozov reported an abundance of seaweed on Anapa's central beach.

The Telegram channel PVA reminded that in 2022, there was a report about a machine for collecting seaweed, which was donated to the city by an Anapa engineer. "Where is this machine? Why is seaweed not being cleaned with it yet?" asked the Telegram channel, publishing a video of a conversation with the engineer, the recording of which was posted by "Kuban 24".

The resort season in Anapa opened against a sharp contrast in the state of the coastline. On December 15, 2024, two tankers carrying fuel oil sank in the Kerch Strait. As a result, a crew member of one of the tankers died.
