In the Untsukul district of Dagestan, energy workers found two illegal mining farms with 20 and eight devices for cryptocurrency mining.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", since the beginning of the year, 52 illegal mining farms have been discovered in Dagestan, and 958 devices for cryptocurrency mining have been seized.

Two illegal mining farms were identified in Dagestan in one day, writes RIA "Dagestan" on August 29.

The first mining farm with 20 devices for cryptocurrency mining was found in the village of Untsukul. The total power of the equipment was about 70 kW, and it was connected to the power grid without a contract with the energy supply organization.

The second mining farm was also found in the Untsukul district, this time in the village of Shamilkala. The total power of the eight devices for cryptocurrency mining was about 28 kW, and it was also connected to the networks illegally.

Recall that in December 2024, the head of Dagestan Sergey Melikov signed an appeal to the government of Russia requesting a ban on cryptocurrency mining in the republic due to the increasing load on the power grids. According to the cabinet's resolution, from 2025 until March 15, 2031, a complete ban on mining has been introduced, including in Dagestan, Ingushetia, Kabardino-Balkaria, Karachay-Cherkessia, North Ossetia, and Chechnya.
