The ban on communication for Aregnaz Manukyan with close relatives has been lifted.

The appellate court in Yerevan allowed communication for the member of the "Mother Armenia" party, Aregnaz Manukyan, with close relatives.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", in mid-July, a candidate for deputy from the "Prosperous Armenia" party and a member of the board of the "Mother Armenia" party, Aregnaz Manukyan, was arrested for two months.

The ban on communication for the member of the "Mother Armenia" party, Aregnaz Manukyan, with close relatives has been lifted. This was reported on her Facebook page by the politician's lawyer, Tatevik Sogoyan.

"As I expected, the appellate court's decision lifted the ban on communication for Aregnaz Manukyan with close relatives. The rest of the arrest remains unchanged," the lawyer's message states.

The authorities of Armenia consider the use of excessive measures and excesses during investigative actions unacceptable. This was stated by the Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, at a briefing on August 20, in response to a question about the arrest of opposition politician Aregnaz Manukyan and restrictions on visits with her 14-year-old daughter, as reported by News.am.

The journalist reminded Pashinyan of his past statements during his opposition activities when he criticized the previous authorities for prohibiting arrested individuals from meeting with their children, and inquired why such episodes are repeating now.

"I do not have all the details of these specific cases; perhaps the press has written about it. But I expressed a clear position and sent a message that we should not fall into extremes and excesses. So I share the logic of your question," Pashinyan assured.

It should be noted that on May 22, employees of the National Security Service conducted searches in the office of the "Mother Armenia" party and in the apartment of its leader, Andranik Tevanyan, who is second on the list of candidates from the "Prosperous Armenia" party. Tevanyan is accused of treason and espionage. The court placed him under arrest for two months, allowing him to participate in the electoral processes through representatives. The "Prosperous Armenia" and "Mother Armenia" parties participated together in the parliamentary elections.

The opposition parties "Prosperous Armenia" and "Wings of Unity", as well as the "Armenia" bloc, demanded that the election commission recount votes at 555 polling stations, while "Strong Armenia" demanded to annul the results at one of the stations. As a result of the recount, the result for "Prosperous Armenia" increased by 140 votes. On June 11, the results of voting at two polling stations in Armenia were annulled by the decision of the Central Election Commission. As a result, "Prosperous Armenia" lost 213 votes.

The parliamentary elections effectively became a referendum on the future of the current government and Armenia's foreign policy course. A reference titled "2026 Elections to the National Assembly (Parliament) of Armenia" has been published on the "Caucasian Knot".
