In the Gal district of Abkhazia, three rooms of the "Gal-Media" TV channel's editorial office burned down in a fire. The preliminary cause of the fire has been identified as a short circuit, and the TV channel has stopped broadcasting.

Today, a video showing the TV channel's editorial office after the fire was published by the Instagram public chp_abkhazia_official. The footage shows charred rooms, burnt walls, and destroyed furniture.

The fire occurred suddenly when there was no heavy load on the electrical system, said the director of the district television, Teya Arshba. "The guys returned from filming, and our colleague went to record his voice. At that moment, ignition occurred," her words are quoted in the text description of the publication.

The fire broke out on the second floor of a four-story building. The flames destroyed three rooms – the editing room, the sound recording room, and the studio from which the main news was broadcast.

According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the cause of the fire was a short circuit, noted Arshba. According to her, the protection installed to prevent such incidents did not work.

"The Ministry of Emergency Situations arrived very quickly, but the fire flared up very quickly, a lot was burned. As for the damage, we will count everything. At the moment, it can be said that the TV channel will continue to operate. We saved two cameras, another one will be checked to see if it is in working condition. One editing table was also saved – the guys immediately rushed to save the equipment," said the director of "Gal-Media".

There is enough surviving equipment for the TV channel to continue working on social media. Full-fledged analog broadcasting of "Gal-Media" has been suspended.
