Evgeny Mushayev was born on March 30, 1999, in Elista. In 2015, he graduated from the Russian National Gymnasium, then entered the Kalmyk State College of Oil and Gas, where he trained as a welder, reported the state news agency "Kalmykia".

After graduating from college in 2018, he served in the military in the automotive troops. In 2020, he signed a contract and was assigned to a military unit in the city of Shali as a senior operator of radar stations in the artillery reconnaissance platoon. From February to May 2022, he participated in the special military operation. After the contract ended in June 2022, he was discharged from military service.

In November 2023, he signed a contract again and continued service in the territory of Donetsk as a senior operator of anti-tank guided missiles. On September 12, 2024, he was killed during the special military operation in the territory of the DPR. He was awarded the Order of Courage, the Zhukov Medal, the "For Combat Distinction" medal, and the "Participant of the Special Military Operation" medal.
