The mayor's report on the gasoline situation caused skepticism among Sochi residents.

The fuel situation in the city is tense but stable, reported the mayor of Sochi. Local residents, commenting on his report in Telegram, pointed out the queues at gas stations and the lack of gasoline.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", on August 13, more than a third of gas stations in Krasnodar, according to official data, were not operating due to a lack of fuel or other reasons, and drivers again complained about queues and rising gasoline prices. Earlier, residents of various cities in the Krasnodar region surveyed by "Caucasian Knot" reported ongoing queues at gas stations and interruptions in gasoline supply.

The fuel situation in Sochi remains tense but stable, reported the mayor of the city Andrey Proshunin in his Telegram channel on August 13. "Restrictions at gas stations have been introduced to meet the city's basic needs and rationally distribute the available fuel supplies under the current difficult conditions. We are still in the high season, and there are many cars in the city," he noted.

The report by Proshunin on the fuel situation in Sochi was published on August 13 by the Telegram channel "Krasnodar | Teletype," which has nearly 127,000 subscribers. As of 10:35 AM Moscow time on August 14, this post had received 31 reactions and 17 comments.

Some commentators assessed the mayor's report skeptically. "Tense, but we are holding on," wrote Sonya Klubnichnaya.

Some users pointed out that interruptions in gasoline supply have been ongoing for more than a month. "In June-July, it was empty, then the situation improved, and now there is again a lack of gasoline," noted Barmalei. He suggested that the fuel shortage could negatively affect the velvet season, as some tourists traveling by car might refuse to visit Sochi.

Other commentators suggested that officials personally assess the situation at gas stations. "The entire administration of Sochi should take a tour to see where gas stations are operating, where there is 95-octane, 92-octane. Everyone should stand in queues, sit in cars. <...> What does stable mean? 100% operation, 50%, 2% of gas stations?" asked Sergey Kruglov. He called the authorities' message a mere formality.

"Caucasian Knot" also reported that on August 10, residents of Sochi complained about hours-long queues at gas stations, while Mayor Andrey Proshunin described the fuel situation as controlled. The next day, the city administration announced limits at gas stations and urged residents and tourists to reduce trips in personal vehicles.
