The report from the authorities about the availability of gasoline has caused skepticism among the residents of Abkhazia.

The supplies of gasoline from Russia announced by the authorities of Abkhazia have not yet improved the situation at gas stations, residents of the republic noted on Telegram. According to them, long queues remain at gas stations, and drivers are only allowed to purchase 20 liters of fuel.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", earlier Abkhaz drivers reported a worsening situation with fuel. According to them, at some gas stations, cars line up in several rows, occupying the oncoming lane as well. Drivers also mentioned that they spend several hours in queues and are forced to travel to other settlements for fuel.

About 1,600 tons of AI-92 gasoline have been shipped from Russia to Abkhazia, reported the head of the Ministry of Energy of the republic, Batal Mushba, at a meeting with Prime Minister Vladimir Delba. "Of this, 350 tons of fuel is expected to arrive in the next two days. Another 600 tons – within a week. Additional volumes are planned to be received within 10-15 days," Mushba was quoted by Interfax on August 4.

A post about the additional fuel supply was published in the Telegram channel "Emergency Abkhazia," which has about 44,000 subscribers. As of 11:45 AM Moscow time on August 5, this post received 38 reactions and 18 comments.

Discussion participants noted that the shipment of fuel from Russia does not mean its actual arrival at gas stations in Abkhazia. This explains the discrepancy between the authorities' report and the ongoing queues.

"It has not arrived, but it has been shipped," emphasized Salima.

"The fuel has only been shipped for delivery to Abkhazia. It has not yet arrived in the republic," she explained to another discussion participant.

"Thank you very much for the detailed response, as I see there were news about the arrival of gasoline, but the kilometer-long queues still persist," wrote user Animal Planet.

Drivers also reported that they continue to spend several hours at gas stations, while the amount of fuel dispensed is limited.

"But why are there still such huge traffic jams? They say they only give out 20 liters," questioned user Animal Planet in another comment.

"Officials should fill up their cars at gas stations among ordinary citizens who stand for hours for those miserable 20 liters. Maybe then they will understand how people are suffering," stated Astamur.

Residents of rural areas pointed out that the fuel shortage persists even outside major cities. They urged officials to personally come to gas stations and assess the situation.

"Everything, it turns out, is under their control. But what about the villagers? Let them come to the gas stations, stand in line, and fill up their cars," wrote user bata.

"400 tons have been shipped – where and to whom? There is still no fuel. "Rosneft" is somehow still holding on, it has only one gas station at the exit. There is no fuel in the city, what are you looking at, guys?" he added.

Recall that on July 30, the authorities of Abkhazia reported that 414 tons of automotive gasoline had arrived in the republic, and the supply of the remaining volumes of fuel was expected in early August. After that, local residents indicated on social media that queues at gas stations still persist, there is a shortage of fuel, and its quality remains low.
