Funds have been allocated for the repair of flooded medical institutions in Dagestan and Chechnya.

The government of the Russian Federation has approved another tranche from the reserve fund to eliminate the consequences of flooding in Dagestan and Chechnya. 280 million rubles are allocated for the repair of 26 medical institutions affected by the floods.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", the government of Dagestan reported on July 18 that payments totaling 2.6 billion rubles related to the flooding have been received by more than 70,500 victims. This is only 28.5% of the total number of applicants - according to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, 274,000 applications have been submitted by victims in Dagestan.

About 280 million rubles from the federal reserve fund are directed to restore healthcare facilities affected during the flooding in Dagestan and Chechnya. This was reported on July 27 by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, as informed by the official Telegram channel of the government of the Russian Federation.

Additional funding will be allocated for major repairs in 26 medical institutions. "These include hospitals, children's clinics, a women's consultation center, and a maternity ward, an ambulance substation, feldsher-midwife stations, and medical outpatient clinics located in rural areas," clarified the Telegram channel of the presidential envoy in the North Caucasus Federal District.

This is not the first tranche from the federal reserve fund directed to Chechnya and Dagestan due to the spring floods. At the end of June, the Russian government allocated 2.5 billion rubles to the two republics for eliminating the consequences of the floods and another 385 million rubles for compensating costs for helping the victims, and at the beginning of July, another 4.4 billion rubles was allocated to Dagestan and Chechnya for the restoration of housing stock. Separate tranches were also allocated for the construction and restoration of educational institutions - kindergartens, schools, and colleges.

There needs to be strict control over the expenditure of allocated funds (which are quite substantial) to minimize the scale of embezzlement and genuinely help the victims, but it seems that the center is satisfied with everything," noted a reader of "Caucasian Knot" with the nickname willie on July 10.

The reader pointed out that the process of assigning and paying compensations to the victims of the flooding in Chechnya is "absolutely opaque." "Among my acquaintances who suffered as a result of the flooding and submitted the necessary documents, no one has received anything so far," he added.

The floods caused by heavy rains began in the North Caucasus at the end of March and became one of the most destructive in recent years.
