Residents of North Ossetia described the situation with gasoline as unstable.

The availability of gasoline at gas stations in North Ossetia is uneven, and prices have risen at both network and private gas stations, drivers surveyed by "Caucasian Knot" reported. Long lines are forming at gas stations with cheap fuel.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", residents of Vladikavkaz and Mozdok reported on July 20 that prices for fuel at some private network gas stations in North Ossetia have slightly decreased; however, the shortage of gasoline and queues at federal gas stations persist. According to drivers, the increase in fuel costs forces them to save on other items in the family budget. As of today, more than a quarter of the gas stations in the republic had no fuel at all; the authorities of the republic announced that the sale of gasoline to residents of other regions is limited to 20 liters per transaction, while local residents can fill up to 40 liters.

Drivers from North Ossetia surveyed by "Caucasian Knot" notice negative changes in the fuel situation. The survey is not representative and reflects only the private opinions of the respondents.

A resident of Vladikavkaz Artur believes that the situation with gasoline in the region is "like everywhere in Russia." "The main thing is that it doesn't get worse," he emphasized. According to him, network gas stations of "Lukoil", "Gazprom", and "Rosneft" are operating. "Private stations are not working," the driver noted.

Albert described the situation as "unstable": according to him, prices at network gas stations have remained almost unchanged, while private stations have doubled their prices. Murat stated that gasoline at an acceptable price can be found at network gas stations "until noon" - while at non-network stations, prices have increased by 30%, in his estimation.

Gasoline can be found quite freely in the morning at "Gazprom" gas stations, noted Azmat. Private stations, according to him, sell gasoline for 97-100 rubles, and none of them have lowered prices or closed, despite the authorities' statements about the need to reduce prices.

There are queues at gas stations, but they are relatively small, pointed out Vaagn. "I filled up at 'Lukoil', there were two cars in front of me," he said. The man added that he only encountered fuel at network gas stations, not at private ones.

Alan described the situation with the words "everything is sad." He reported that queues at different gas stations stretched from 30 minutes to two hours depending on the situation. "Prices for gasoline have risen everywhere. Of course, people have started to drive less," he stated.

Another driver, also Alan, called the situation "unpleasant." "Prices at network gas stations have risen by 10%, while at private ones even more. At the same time, private stations do not listen to the authorities' demands to lower prices. Some of them have closed, some have remained and are trading. There is gasoline, but not constantly: it appears mainly at network gas stations, so sometimes you have to drive around to find it. As soon as it is delivered, there are queues, some lasting 30 minutes, some an hour," he noted.

Another Vladikavkaz resident finds that there is enough gasoline, but also noted the price difference. "There is enough gasoline, you can fill up a full tank. But at some gas stations, A-92 is sold for 67 rubles, at others for 97. Where it is cheaper, there are queues for about 30 minutes," he stated.

Several drivers stated that they did not notice a deterioration in the situation. For instance, Alim and Tamaz insisted that there is enough gasoline at gas stations, and if the price has risen, it is only slightly.

No drivers confirmed the information about the disappearance of gasoline in the Ardon district, although the website "Gas Stations of North Ossetia", maintained by the republican Ministry of Housing and Utilities, still indicates as of 23:55 Moscow time today that only diesel fuel is available in this municipality.

According to the surveyed residents of Vladikavkaz, there are no problems with gas at gas stations; it can be freely purchased. Only one driver named Alan noted an increase in prices for this type of fuel. "Gas prices have risen from 26 to 38 rubles, which is more than 10%. Equipment has also become more expensive as everyone wants to install gas en masse," he said.
