The court in the Cheregem district fined local resident Musa Kuchmenov, acknowledging that the video he published online discredited the military.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", on March 4, 2022, responsibility for discrediting the armed forces was introduced, since then residents of Russia, including Kabardino-Balkaria, have been prosecuted under the relevant article 20.3.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation. It provides for fines for citizens ranging from 30,000 to 100,000 rubles, and repeated violations within a year threaten criminal prosecution.

According to the case materials, resident Musa Kuchmenov from the Cheregem district recorded a video that contained signs of discrediting the armed forces and then published it online.

At the court hearing, Kuchmenov admitted his guilt and asked not to be punished severely. The Cheregem District Court fined him, finding him guilty of discrediting the army, as indicated in the case card published on the court's website.

The case materials do not specify the amount for which Kuchmenov was fined.

"Caucasian Knot" also reported that the court in Nalchik fined local resident Yana Keshova, acknowledging that the video she published in a messenger discredited the Russian military.
