Participants of the pickets in Yerevan demanded the release of Russian prisoners.

Activists held actions today in Yerevan near the embassies of Russia and Germany in support of people they consider political prisoners.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", activists periodically hold pickets in Yerevan demanding the release of prisoners, whose prosecution they consider unjust. This concerns prisoners in Russia as well as in European countries. For instance, on July 11, at the Russian embassy in Yerevan, picketers demanded the release of prisoners they consider political prisoners – including those convicted in the "Furgal case". At the German embassy, protesters expressed support for Dmitry Bagrash, who faces deportation from Germany to Russia.

Today, a picket was held at the Russian embassy in Yerevan in support of Russian prisoners. Participants of the action demanded their release and brought posters dedicated to former governor of the Khabarovsk region Sergey Furgal, his accountant Galina Aleinikova, and her deputy Svetlana Osipenko, reported the Telegram channel RusNews.

A picket was also held in Yerevan at the German embassy in support of Dmitry Bagrash. The reason for the action was the response of the judicial administration to Bagrash's complaint, who may be deported to Russia after his release. The picketers called on the German authorities not to deport him to the Russian Federation.

It should be noted that the court sentenced Sergey Furgal to 23 years in prison. In December 2025, Furgal received a new sentence – he was found guilty on economic charges under the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, with a total sentence of 25 years.

According to German authorities, Dmitry Bagrash attempted to set fire to the building of the Russian news agency RIA "Novosti" in Berlin in 2022. According to the investigation, Bagrash placed a homemade bomb in the basement of the building where agency employees lived. The bomb did not go off and was later found by the police.

On June 20, Bagrash was charged with attempted murder. Before his arrest, he held actions against Vladimir Putin's policies, reported the Berlin newspaper Tagesspiegel on June 22 on its website.
