Anapa showed an increase in tourist flow against the backdrop of the fuel crisis.

Anapa, where 89 beaches are open after the oil spill, shows the most significant increase in tourists in the Krasnodar region, while the fuel crisis limits the opportunities for car owners to relax at the resorts of Kuban.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", 89 beaches in Anapa are already open, and another 12 are undergoing examination. The sand used to cover the beaches has compacted and is not very suitable for recreation, users of social networks pointed out. Other commentators expressed hope that the imported sand would gradually be washed away by the sea. Authorities reported that 830 thousand tourists have visited Anapa since the beginning of the year, adding that the replenishment of the beaches with new sand is ongoing. Bloggers confirmed that there are many vacationers on the beaches.

Anapa showed an increase in bookings in July

Booking systems continue to record a decline in interest in the Krasnodar region. For example, according to TravelLine, the number of room bookings across the territory in the first half of July decreased by 28% compared to the same period last year, arrivals decreased by 14%, and the number of cancellations increased by 42%, writes TourDom.

At the same time, in Sochi, the decline in arrivals is 20%. In Anapa, on the contrary, there is an increase of 18%.

According to Sergey Romashkin, head of the "Delfin" company, the decline in Sochi became noticeable back in December 2025, and at the same time, Anapa surged upward. "It showed phenomenal speed – plus 40-60%. And after problems began in Crimea and some tourists redirected to the Krasnodar region, the growth increased to 100% year-on-year," the expert says. And in July, this pace is maintained.

The fuel crisis played a role in filling the resorts

According to Sergey Tolchin, general director of the tour operator "Turplatform", Anapa is increasing tourist flow primarily due to residents of the Southern Federal District – the fuel factor is at play. "I drove along the entire coast from Sirius to Blagoveshchenskaya. There are noticeably fewer usual cars from Central Russia and the Volga region – the numbers are mainly local. They can get to the sea and back on one tank," his words are quoted in the publication.

The fuel crisis factor in the popularity of Anapa's beaches was also pointed out by blogger Andrey Makovozov. He published photos from a sparsely populated beach in the village of Blagoveshchenskaya. "Due to gasoline, many locals who live in Anapa have started to visit here less often - it turns out to be 70 km back and forth," he noted.

The Anapa administration reported that as of this morning, 26 gas stations were operating.

"At 8 gas stations, by the owners' decision, restrictions have been introduced – fuel is dispensed only by fuel cards and for special transport. At 13 gas stations, there are restrictions on the amount of fuel dispensed into tanks (92 and 95 by 20 liters – at 2 gas stations; 92 and diesel by 24 liters – at 1 gas station; 95 by 26 liters – at 1 gas station; 92 and 95 by 30 liters – at 9 gas stations; 92, 95, and diesel by 40 liters – at 3 gas stations; diesel by 50 liters – at 7 gas stations; diesel by 60 liters – at 3 gas stations). At all gas stations, the dispensing of fuel into canisters and other containers is restricted," the message on the Telegram channel of the administration states.

Some residents of Kuban stated that they consider switching to gas the only way to reduce expenses. Others are convinced that the current crisis is temporary and will not lead to mass retrofitting of vehicles.
