A resident of Ingushetia received a suspended sentence for extremist calls.

The court in Ingushetia sentenced local resident Islam Tankiev to one and a half years of conditional imprisonment for publishing calls for murder based on nationality.

Tankiev was charged with public calls for extremist activities via the internet (part 2 of article 280 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). The article provides for up to five years of imprisonment or forced labor. The case was considered by the Karabulak District Court.

According to the prosecution's version, Tankiev posted materials in his messenger account with calls for the murder of representatives of a certain nationality; which one is not specified in the message. The investigation was conducted by employees of the republican FSB department, reported Interfax-South on July 9.

Islam Tankiev was sentenced to one and a half years of conditional imprisonment with a one-year probation period. In addition, the court prohibited Tankiev from administering websites, channels, and other information resources on the internet for two years.

The case was submitted to the court on June 23 and was considered in one session, with the verdict issued on July 7, according to the registry of the Karabulak District Court. The verdict has not yet entered into legal force. The FSB's message does not specify whether Tankiev admitted guilt. The "Caucasian Knot" currently has no comments from the convicted person or his lawyer.

Islam Tankiev is a native of Nazran, he is 33 years old, according to the registry of terrorists and extremists of Rosfinmonitoring.

"Caucasian Knot" also reported that in early June, the court sentenced a resident of the Volgograd region, Tigran Armenakyan, to five years in a penal colony for publicly justifying terrorism and calls for extremism in a messenger: according to the prosecution, his messages encouraged hostile and violent actions against Russians and Azerbaijanis. The court sentenced Ramil Salmanov, a native of Volgograd, to three years of imprisonment in December on similar charges.
