Kadyrov submitted documents to participate in the elections for the head of Chechnya.

The head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, visited the election commission of the region and submitted documents for re-election to the position in the elections on the unified voting day, September 20.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", on July 6, "United Russia" nominated Ramzan Kadyrov as a candidate for the position of head of the Chechen Republic in the upcoming elections. On July 2, the Council of Elders of Chechnya unanimously supported Kadyrov's candidacy in the elections during a meeting in Grozny .

Today, Ramzan Kadyrov visited the Chechen Election Commission and officially submitted a package of documents to nominate his candidacy for the position of head of the region, reports the publication "Chechnya Today."

"For me, this process is particularly important, as participating in the upcoming elections is a very responsible step," wrote the head of Chechnya on his Telegram channel.

The chairman of the election commission, Umar Baikhanov, handed Ramzan Kadyrov a written confirmation that all necessary documents have been accepted and permission to open a special election account.

"In accordance with the regulations, I certified the documents handed to me with my signature. I believe that direct elections of the head of the region are the most fair and correct step in the political life of our society. It is the people who should shape their destiny and choose whom to trust. Therefore, at the time, I insisted on maintaining direct elections for the Head of the Chechen Republic, so that the leadership of the region would be a person whom the people support and believe in," his message states.

Kadyrov also stated that if voters choose his team in the upcoming elections, he will do everything possible to justify the trust of the residents of the republic.

As seen in the video attached to the publication, he was accompanied to the Chechen election commission by his 18-year-old son, the secretary of the Security Council of the republic, Adam Kadyrov, the head of the government of the republic, Magomed Daudov, and his deputy Ahmed Dudayev, State Duma deputy from Chechnya Adam Delimkhanov, human rights commissioner Mansur Soltaev, and other Chechen officials. After submitting the documents, those present, together with the head of the election commission of the republic, posed for a photo and shouted "Akhmat is strength."

No other candidates for the position of head of Chechnya had been reported by 22:04 Moscow time.

"Caucasian Knot" also reported that in the upcoming elections to the State Duma, the Chechen list of "United Russia" will be headed for the first time since 2007 not by Ramzan Kadyrov, but by the current deputies from the region.
