Protest participants in Tbilisi promised the European Union to fight until victory.

Activists gathered at the Georgian parliament on the 585th day of daily protests read an address to EU politicians, promising to continue fighting for the country's return to the path of Eurointegration, the release of political prisoners, and the conduct of fair parliamentary elections.

Participants of the continuous protest addressed the EU and EU member states with an open letter. According to the authors, they stand on Rustaveli Avenue and in various cities of the country with the desire to protect the European future, reports Publika.

"We, citizens of Georgia, who have been conducting continuous and peaceful protests in Tbilisi - on Rustaveli Avenue and in various cities of the country for almost six hundred days, have one goal: to protect the European future of Georgia - the rule of law, human rights, and the free development of society. Georgia is an integral part of European civilization, and the integration of the country into European and Euro-Atlantic structures is a universal choice established by Article 78 of the Constitution of Georgia, which mandates any government of Georgia to take all measures to achieve this goal of the Georgian people," the authors of the address stated.

They reminded that after the parliamentary elections in 2024, the "Georgian Dream" decided to suspend the process of Eurointegration and "thus ignored the constitution of Georgia, which has become the basis for the continuous protest of the Georgian people." The authors of the address noted that the party is fighting against those who disagree with the policy of the "Georgian Dream": protest participants end up in detention and receive huge fines. "As a result of repressive policies, citizens are forced to leave their homeland," they noted.

The authors of the address thanked the EU and the governments of its member states "for the moral and political solidarity shown in the release of our compatriots detained for political reasons."

"We will stand until the end, we will fight until the prisoners of conscience and political prisoners are released; the European and Euro-Atlantic course established by the Constitution of Georgia is restored, and free and fair parliamentary elections are held," the address states.
