Three fighters from Dagestan were killed in the SVO zone

Kamal Mikailov, Valentin Sherifov, and Amil Magomedov from the Magaramkent district were killed in combat in Ukraine. Since the beginning of the military operation, at least 2026 combatants from Dagestan have been officially recognized as killed.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", as of July 3, the authorities and law enforcement agencies officially recognized that at least 2023 fighters from Dagestan were killed in the military operation in Ukraine.

The administration of the Magaramkent district reported on July 2 about the transfer of awards to the families of the three fighters who were killed in the military operation via their Telegram channel.

Posthumously awarded with Orders of Courage were: Kamal Mikailov, Valentin Sherifov, and Amil Magomedov. The head of the district, Nariman Efendiyev, presented the awards to the families.

Thus, at least 2026 servicemen from Dagestan have been officially recognized as killed on the Ukrainian front. "Caucasian Knot" maintains a named list of natives from the North Caucasus Federal District and the Southern Federal District who were killed in the military operation. The list is compiled based on data officially announced by representatives of the authorities and law enforcement agencies, as stated in the "Caucasian Knot" report "SVO Statistics: Losses are Growing for Southern Russia".

In early June, the administration of the Magaramkent district reported that in the special military operation zone, Salim Panakhov, Gamid Mejlumov, and Muslim Mamedov were killed.

Dagestan ranks first among the regions of the North Caucasus Federal District in the number of killed whose names have been officially disclosed by the authorities. Sergey Melikov, who headed Dagestan in February 2022, was the first among the authorities to announce that a Russian soldier was killed in Ukraine, acknowledging the death of officer Nurmagomed Gadzhimagomedov.

State awards, memorial plaques, and appearances on "Channel One" do not guarantee support from the state for the families of the killed, as stated in the material of "Caucasian Knot" "Three Comrades Served: How Authorities Deny Benefits to Families of Killed Volunteers", which describes the stories of the killed fighters. "I receive only twelve thousand rubles a month for two minor children as a family of military pensioners," complains the wife of Vasily Shtylun, who received five million rubles from the "Veterans" unit for her husband killed in 2022.
