She is serving an illegal sentence under the pretext of an inscription on Kakha Kaladze's campaign banner. In reality, the regime does not forgive her uncompromising struggle for freedom, resistance, non-recognition of the illegitimate government, and solidarity. This has been confirmed by regime representatives themselves in public statements. Elene's health has been steadily deteriorating in recent months. She suffers from chronic pain, which cannot be managed in captivity. Constant pain in a prison facility is tantamount to torture. Regime officials are lying when they claim Elena is receiving the medical care she needs. In fact, she is deprived of systematic, results-oriented treatment, which is confirmed by the constant deterioration of her health," the publication quotes representatives of the Alliance as saying.

According to physician and rheumatologist Maka Ioseliani, the examination of Elene Khoshtaria, founder of the opposition Droa party, at Women's Prison No. 5 was not complete due to severe pain - the politician was unable to lie down on the medical table and undergo a full examination.

Koshtaria has injuries to both peripheral and large joints, including phalanges, knees, and hip joints. Part of the examination could not be carried out precisely because of severe pain, despite the patient's attempts. Ioseliani said that the patient is experiencing severe pain, has difficulty walking and using a cane, and partially retains the ability to care for herself. According to Ioseliani, the politician's condition requires extensive diagnostics with the participation of several specialists, including an assessment of autoimmune hemolytic anemia and possible systemic processes. "I "I believe the examination should be conducted in a multidisciplinary clinic to rule out all possible options and calculate all risks," Tbilisi Life quotes her as saying.

Today, an agreement was reached that the doctor will visit the patient again, after which the examination results will be discussed with the penitentiary service, Interpressnews reports.

Protesters in Georgia have been demanding new parliamentary elections and the release of political prisoners since November 28, 2024.
