The Armenian Media Association called on security forces to return equipment to 7or.am.

The seizure of equipment during a search of the Mother Armenia party office, as well as the apartment, garage, and car of its chairman, Andranik Tevanyan, nearly a month ago paralyzed the work of the information and analytical website 7or.am, the Armenian Media Association stated, demanding that security forces return the equipment necessary for the site's operation.

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," on May 22 it became known that security forces detained Mother Armenia party chairman Andranik Tevanyan, who is second on the Prosperous Armenia party's list of candidates for parliament. Prior to this, the prosecutor's office convinced the Central Election Commission to agree to criminal prosecution of the candidate. On May 22, NSS officers conducted searches at the Mother Armenia party office and the apartment of its leader, Andranik Tevanyan. Tevanyan's supporters demanded the opposition leader's release at a protest. On May 23, Tevanyan was arrested for two months.

The Armenian Media Association issued a statement today regarding the actions of security forces during the election campaign.

On May 22, 2026, representatives of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia, accompanied by officers of the National Security Service of the Republic of Armenia, conducted searches at the office of the Mother Armenia party, as well as at the apartment, garage, and car of Andranik Tevanyan. Among other things, the technical equipment of the information and analytical website "7or.am", which ensured its uninterrupted operation, was seized. As a result, the activities of the information and analytical website "7or am" have remained paralyzed since then and to this day, writes Yerevan Today.

This approach "directly contradicts the fundamental values ​​of a democratic society, freedom of speech and the press, as well as the principle of the unimpeded operation of the media. We note with regret that such a practice is becoming recurring," the statement notes.

The Armenian Media Association demanded the immediate return of all equipment vital to the activities of the media outlet "7or.am" in order to restore the normal operation of the site and to refrain from further practices that lead to the paralysis of the activities of the media, regardless of the proceedings within which the relevant actions are carried out.

Members of the Armenian Media Association confirmed their readiness to provide technical and professional support to 7or am to resume its operations.

As of January 21, the 7or am website is unavailable. The publication's Telegram channel is operational and has 1,470 subscribers.

7or.am is a news and analytical agency. Its Telegram channel description states that it focuses primarily on politics, economics, culture, sports, and business.

As a reminder, Prosperous Armenia Party leader Gagik Tsarukyan has filed a lawsuit demanding a retraction, apology, and compensation from Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. At a briefing on May 28, 2026, Pashinyan called Tsarukyan a "criminal," "spy," and "agent" and stated that "on the instructions of a foreign intelligence service, Tsarukyan included Andranik Tevanyan in the PAP list."

The Prosperous Armenia Party of oligarch Gagik Tsarukyan, the Armenia bloc of former president Robert Kocharyan, and the Strong Armenia bloc of businessman Samvel Karapetyan are the most pro-Russian participants in the Armenian parliamentary elections, analysts previously noted.
