Protesters in Tbilisi demanded the release of political prisoners.

On the 565th day of continuous protests, supporters of Georgia's European integration gathered outside the parliament building to demand the release of prisoners of conscience.

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," on June 14, the 564th day of protests, activists outside the parliament demanded a change in Georgia's political course and the release of political prisoners. That same day, animal rights activists held a rally in Tbilisi, demanding humane treatment of stray animals.

This evening, Tbilisi residents gathered on Rustaveli Avenue outside the parliament building for the 565th day in a row. According to a video published on Facebook* by Giorgi Mumladze, more than a hundred people participated in the rally of supporters of Georgia's European integration.

The participants of the rally brought with them flags of Georgia, the European Union, the United States, and Ukraine. They chanted "The System Must Be Destroyed," "Freedom for Prisoners of the Regime," and "Freedom for Zviad Tsetskhladze," according to posts by photographer Giorgi Mosiashvili (Mo Se) and Georgian media on Facebook*.

Zviad Tsetskhladze, the leader of the Dafioni student movement, has been in prison since December 2024. In September, he was sentenced to two and a half years in prison for participating in pro-European protests.

Protesters in Georgia have been demanding new parliamentary elections and the release of political prisoners since November 28, 2024. Security forces violently dispersed the protests, using tear gas and water cannons, and detained protesters. Thousands of people were subjected to administrative prosecution during the protests.
