A rally in support of Movlaev took place in Vienna.

Activists held a rally in Vienna in support of Chechen native Mansur Movlaev. They appealed to Kazakh authorities not to extradite him.

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," on June 3, Mansur Movlaev reported that his brother Zelimkhan had been kidnapped in Chechnya and subjected to violence, and on June 6, he reported that his parents had been forcibly taken away to an unknown location in Chechnya. On June 14, Movlaev complained about violations of his rights in pretrial detention.

A group of activists held a rally in Austria in support of Mansur Movlaev. The protest took place near the Kazakh Embassy in Vienna. Participants called for respect for the fundamental principles of international law and the protection of human rights, according to a message published on June 14 on Movlayev's support group's Instagram page*.

"We call on the authorities of the Republic of Kazakhstan to demonstrate their commitment to truth, justice, and the international obligations they have accepted," the post's description reads.

A video showing the protesters is attached to the post. "Kazakhstan, we ask you not to extradite Mansur Movlaev to Russia," one of the protesters said in a video. "The entire world and the entire international community is watching the fate of Mansur Movlaev. Kazakhstan must choose the right side today – the side of the rule of law," said another protester in the video. "Freedom for Mansur Movlaev! Because human life is worth fighting for," emphasized another protester in the video. As a reminder, Mansur Movlaev was detained by security forces in Chechnya in 2022 and held in an illegal prison. After escaping from there, he managed to reach Kyrgyzstan in January 2023. In August 2023, Kyrgyz security forces detained Movlaev, who was wanted in Russia for financing extremist activity. A Bishkek court sentenced Movlaev to six months in prison and subsequent deportation from the country. On November 20, 2023, Movlaev was released, but the deportation order remained in effect, and he voluntarily left Kyrgyzstan to avoid being sent home.

In May 2025, Movlaev was detained in Kazakhstan and placed under extradition arrest. On January 30, it was announced that the Kazakh Prosecutor General's Office had ordered his extradition to Russian security forces. His defense appealed this decision. In February, Kazakhstan's Supreme Court suspended the extradition order against Movlaev pending the final review of his asylum application. Human rights defenders and activists considered this decision and Movlaev's appeal to the UN Human Rights Committee, which in February called on Kazakhstani authorities to suspend Movlaev's extradition pending the review of his appeal, to be interconnected. On May 8, a court in Almaty extended the extradition arrest by two months, until July.
