CIS observers treat parliamentary elections in Georgia as democratic

The mission of CIS observers has assessed the parliamentary elections in Georgia as democratic, having noted that the revealed violations can in no way affect the outcomes of the voting.

"The elections passed calmly, democratically, and although there were some violations, they cannot influence in any way the voting totals", Nauryz Aidarov, head of the mission of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) and Deputy Chair of the Executive Committee - CIS Executive Secretary, said in the press conference in Tbilisi on May 22, having added that al the conditions had been in place for running the observation.

The group of PACE observers has also stated that, as a whole, the May 21 voting process all over Georgia passed normally, without any severe violations.
