Residents of three villages in Kuban are being evacuated due to rising river water levels.

Residents of three villages in the Krymsky District of Krasnodar Krai are being evacuated due to the partial overflow of the Kuban River over the dam near the village of Zapadny.

Residents of Zapadny itself, as well as the village of Gvardeyskoye and the village of Urma, and the Yodnik gardening community, are being evacuated from the potentially dangerous area.

A total of approximately 180 people live there. Public alerts have been issued in the municipalities, including door-to-door alerts. Buses for evacuation have been prepared at assembly points, the Krasnodar Krai Operational Headquarters reported today on its Telegram channel.

It is noted that residents with limited mobility were evacuated the day before. Temporary accommodation centers have been set up in the city of Krymsk and the village of Ekonomicheskoe.

Earlier it was reported that a state of emergency had been declared in four villages in the Krymsky District. The cause is rising water levels in the Kuban River, which could lead to flooding. A state of emergency is in effect in the village of Troitskaya, the village of Zapadny (Troitskoye rural settlement), the village of Urma, and the village of Gvardeyskoye (Kievskoye rural settlement), according to the Krasnodar TV channel.

In Troitskaya, work continues to strengthen the Kuban River dam. The entire village is working on the project, with entrepreneurs and ordinary residents purchasing sandbags to build the barrier, according to the Morning South newspaper.

"We are now each fighting for our homes, our children, our families," the newspaper quotes local residents as saying.

The water level in the village of Troitskaya has reached a critical level of 2 meters 11 centimeters. More than 200 people and about 12 vehicles are working daily. More than 5 kilometers of the dam have already been reinforced. Oil booms have been deployed, Kuban 24 reports.

"Caucasian Knot" also reported that in August 2025, rivers in the Tuapse District and Goryachy Klyuch rose, flooding residential buildings and streets. Authorities reported the evacuation of residents. Several bridges were also destroyed, and three villages were cut off from power.
