Opposition is afraid of political terror boom

The Eni Musavat newspaper with a reference to the Turkish web-site Avrasiya.turk.com informs that some power circles of Azerbaijan are trying to form illegal armed units to get rid of several opposition leaders. They delivered weapons for 600 people to Baku. These groups are allegedly lead by the chief of the Baku police Magerram Aliyev, the president's brother Dzhalal Alieyev, and the president's security head Beylyar Eyubov.

The Ministry of National Security (MNS) of Azerbaijan was clued up about such plans and immediately arrested several people. On August 12 a special operation was conducted in one of the parks in the center of Baku, with the skirmish between police officers and the officers of the MNB taking place. According to the data of the Eni Musavat, the authorities are trying to conceal this fact and put pressure on MNB Chief Namik Abbasov. The US and Israeli embassies turned to Abbasov for explanations.
