Bryza: Georgia's advance towards fair elections is noticeable

According to Matthew Bryza, assistant of the US undersecretary of state, who is now in Tbilisi, "a certain progress can be noticed in Georgia towards free and fair elections."

Mr Bryza shared this opinion with journalists in a press conference in Tbilisi that he held after meeting the leaders of oppositional parties and state officials of the country.

According to Matthew Bryza, it is important that voters' lists "are improved as much as possible." He has also shared his hope that making use of administrative resources in election campaigning, which "was hinted by some people", will be stopped.

"It is also important that the voters in Georgia believe in free and fair consideration of their complaints should they have any problems or claims to the election process," the "Civil Georgia" quotes the assistant of the US undersecretary of state as saying. "They should hope for their complaint to be fairly considered by the electoral administration or in the court."
