A march demanding modern treatment for children with Duchenne muscular dystrophy took place in Tbilisi today.

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," on May 15, the 534th day of protests, activists held a picket at a Tbilisi metro station demanding the release of political prisoners. Participants in the rally outside the Georgian Parliament supported the demand for medications for children with Duchenne syndrome. Similar demands were voiced at the May 16 rally, the 535th day of daily protests.

A protest march demanding that the authorities provide medications to children with Duchenne muscular dystrophy took place today in Tbilisi from the Rustaveli Monument to the Chancellery (Government Administration), Tbilisi Life reports.

Parents of the children and activists supporting their demands marched through the city streets, holding red balloons and badges with their images. The procession moved along the roadway, and children, including some in wheelchairs, were among its participants, according to photographs published by Publika.

Today, they also met with participants in the procession held on the occasion of Family Sanctity Day in Freedom Square and asked the clergy leading the procession for assistance and blessings.
