The Ministry of Justice has declared a Telegram channel about the Caucasus a foreign agent.

The Tower* information and analysis center, which publishes news and original programs about events around the world and in the Caucasus, has been added to Russia's register of foreign agents.

The Russian Ministry of Justice updated its register of foreign agents today, adding a media project dedicated to the Caucasus.

According to the ministry, the Tower* information and analysis center "disseminated false information about decisions made by public authorities of the Russian Federation and the policies they pursue." The project was also found to be calling for "violation of the territorial integrity" of the Russian Federation and opposing Russian military actions in Ukraine.

"The authors of the information and analysis center are individuals included in the register of foreign agents; the resource is managed outside the Russian Federation," according to a statement on the Ministry of Justice's website.

"Tower"* positions itself as "an information and analytical center covering news through the prism of the Caucasus." As of 8:45 PM Moscow time, the project's Telegram channel had over 9,200 subscribers. The channel publishes news about events in the world, the Middle East, Russia, and the Caucasus, as well as video episodes of its original programs.

During the course of today, "Tower"* reported, in particular, that Ukrainian drones "have again reached the North Caucasus," that security forces conducted raids in North Ossetia and Ingushetia to seize weapons and ammunition, and that most of the victims of the devastating flood in Dagestan remain without payments and compensation.
