The state of Tuapse after the "black rains" has alarmed social media users.

The streets of Tuapse, far from the city center, remain dirty after oil rains, but there is no sign of any cleanup, a local resident complained. Some commenters suggested she join the city cleanup, while others pointed out that this is the responsibility of the government and businesses.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot," sections of the Black Sea coast near Tuapse, contaminated by oil products from the local oil refinery, are being cleaned unevenly: active work is underway near city infrastructure, but remote and "wild" beaches are being neglected, local residents and volunteers stated.

The Telegram channel "My Tuapse" published a statement from a local resident. "It smells of burning, the street is covered in fuel oil, the pedestrian area is completely black. It's a good thing I walked in the evening, because I can imagine what happens during the day – it sticks 100%. Do I need to wash it off?" she wrote. She attached photos of the sidewalk covered in small black spots to the message.

"Girl, sign up as a volunteer and clean. People are already working almost around the clock. There are more difficult places, and they work there," wrote Natasha Belozerova.

Other users expressed their opinions on the responsibility of businesses for the state of the city.

"Why is it normal for volunteers to clean up the aftermath of a fire? Why are fair comments met with hate? Why do we need to be more tolerant? In my opinion, absolutely all problems need to be highlighted so that the scale of the consequences is clear." "Understandable. People didn't create these troubles for themselves. Otherwise, we help hush up the problems and report that "we have everything under control." "Under control" means the authorities inform their residents when and how the work will be completed. But now it's the other way around. Volunteers take the initiative, do all the work, local businesses feed them, and the authorities are like, "Well done! We can handle it!" It's trite, but it's unfair, and everyone can see it," commented user Portora Portora.

Volunteers shouldn't be the ones cleaning up the mess, as the city suffered from the aftermath of explosions on the property of a company that "earned millions of dollars," says Roman Vorotylkin. "Are volunteers with rags supposed to clean the city? Where is the help? Where are the cleanup crews for these kinds of accidents?" he demanded.

"Why? The governor and the minister flew away. Before that,> they painted the curbs and posts overnight and washed the city center with a pressure washer," Oleg pointed out.
