A serviceman from Dagestan was killed in Ukraine.

Muradkhan Taibov from the Khiva district was killed in combat. Since the beginning of the Russian operation in Ukraine, authorities have publicly named at least 1,918 combatants from Dagestan killed there.

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," by May 5, officials and security forces acknowledged that at least 1,917 fighters from Dagestan had been killed in the military operation in Ukraine.

On May 6, Senior Sergeant Muradkhan Taibov, killed in the combat zone in Ukraine, was buried in the village of Tsinit in the Khiva district, the municipal administration reported.

Taibov served in a military unit in the city of Kamyshin in the Volgograd region, and from the beginning of the special military operation in Ukraine, he was in the combat zone "continuously, for more than four years," according to officials. During this time, he received six different medals.

In his message of condolence, Yarmet Yarmetov, the head of the district, noted that Muradkhan Taibov also participated in the military operation in Syria, for which he was awarded two medals.

Thus, at least 1,918 servicemen from Dagestan have been officially recognized as killed in the military operation.

Dagestan's head, Sergei Melikov, was the first government official to announce back in February 2022 that a Russian soldier had been killed in Ukraine, acknowledging the death of officer Nurmagomed Gadzimagomedov.
