A Ukrainian citizen was convicted by a Rostov court for an attempted terrorist attack.

The Southern District Military Court in Rostov-on-Don sentenced a Ukrainian citizen to 12 years in prison for attempting to blow up Russian military personnel with a grenade.

The Southern District Military Court sentenced a 28-year-old Ukrainian citizen, finding him guilty of illegal possession of weapons (Part 1 of Article 222.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) and attempted terrorist attack (Clause "b" of Part 3 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code).

According to the investigation, in 2023, the man illegally acquired a grenade, which he used to attempt to blow up Russian military personnel stationed in the Kherson region, but he was unable to do so, Kommersant reported on April 30.

The court sentenced the man to 12 years in prison. He will serve the first three years in prison, and the remainder in a maximum security penal colony.

Earlier, "Caucasian Knot" reported that on April 27, the Southern District Military Court sentenced three Donetsk residents, Vladislav Matukhnenko, Anton Yesaulenko, and Evgeniya Kudryashova, to 20 years, 13 years, and 10.5 years, respectively, for arson on the railroad.
