The court also sentenced the former senator, who had been sentenced to life imprisonment, to an additional 10 years.

The Sol-Iletsk District Court of the Orenburg Region rejected the claim of former senator Rauf Arashukov, serving a life sentence in the Black Dolphin penal colony, for 100,000 rubles in compensation for moral damages for failure to provide food, TASS reported.

"By a court decision dated April 30, 2026, the claims of R.R. Arashukov were denied in full," the documents state.

According to the case materials, on March 2, 2026, the prisoner submitted an application to the penal colony administration for the purchase of food products: 18 items worth 14,000 rubles. Two days later, he received groceries worth 4,172 rubles. Arashukov considered this a violation of his right to purchase essential food products and filed a lawsuit against the institution's administration.

During the hearing, the court examined and included in the case file a price list of the goods available in the store on the date Arashukov filed his purchase complaint. It turned out that the goods that had not been purchased were missing, the agency reports.

Arashukov demanded 100,000 rubles in compensation for moral damages from the prison administration, as well as the 3,000 rubles in state fees he had paid, RIA Novosti reported on April 16.
