Chechen residents have submitted over 19,000 requests for compensation following the flood.

Chechnya's authorities have received over 19,600 flood damage compensation claims from residents.

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," by April 17, Chechen authorities had received more than 15,000 flood damage compensation claims from residents, 10,800 of which were approved.

According to the Chairman of the Chechen Government Magomed Daudov, 19,644 applications for financial assistance have been uploaded to the government services portal by residents of the republic affected by the flood, Ramzan Kadyrov reported late in the evening on April 20 on his Telegram channel.

"Work is being carried out on each of them, and priority payments are almost complete. Compensation for partial and complete loss of property is also planned," he wrote.

Filing an application does not guarantee receipt of payments, a reader of the "Kavkazsky" noted on April 14 "knot" with the nickname dixie. "Filing a claim for compensation for damage caused by the elements is one thing. The real work comes later. In Chechnya, there have been numerous examples of people affected by floods, earthquakes, and other cataclysms not receiving the full compensation they were entitled to. Local officials, under one pretext or another, pocketed part of the money. [...] It will be possible to draw any conclusions about the allocation of aid to flood victims only after they receive these funds," he wrote in his commentary.

As a reminder, documents for compensation payments in Chechnya are collected without unnecessary formalities. Residents of the republic often limited themselves to sending photos of damaged houses to the administration, residents of the republic told the Caucasian Knot.

"Here, residents take photos of damaged houses and property themselves; the head of the administration confirms, "It's all collected and submitted to Gosuslugi," said Ilyas, a resident of the Shatoi District whose house wall was destroyed by flooding.

In Dagestan, approximately 1.5 million residents were caught in the devastating flood zone. Six residents of the republic, including three minors, died as a result of the flooding. Additionally, on April 13, 19-year-old volunteer Artem Mikhrabov, who suffered a severe traumatic brain injury while helping residents of the flooded village of Mamedkala, died in the hospital.
