Chechen residents have submitted over 15,000 applications for flood-related payments.

The Chechen authorities have received over 15,000 flood damage compensation applications from residents of the republic, 10,800 of which have been approved.

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," by April 13, the commission assessing flood damage in Chechnya had received more than 13,000 flood damage compensation applications from residents of the republic.

By April 17, Chechen authorities had received more than 15,000 applications for payments from residents, 10,800 of which had been approved, according to Magomed Daudov, Chairman of the Chechen Government.

"More than 3,200 homes and 92 socially significant facilities were damaged in Chechnya. Over 500 road sections, 55 bridges, and eight hydraulic structures were damaged. Significant damage was inflicted on housing and utilities, energy, and agriculture," Grozny-Inform quoted him as saying.

According to Daudov, water has already been pumped out of all 3,235 affected homes, and 84 gas pipelines and 70 energy facilities have been restored. Furthermore, roads have been completely cleared and transport links have been restored, the publication states.

According to the Caucasian Knot weather service, today in Grozny there will be variable cloudiness with no precipitation, and similar weather is expected on the night of April 19. As a reminder, floods caused by torrential rains began in the North Caucasus in late March and have become some of the most destructive in recent years. Dagestan and Chechnya suffered the most from the natural disaster, according to the Caucasian Knot report "Spring Flooding in the North Caucasus - 2026".

In Dagestan, approximately 1.5 million residents were caught in the devastating flood zone. Six residents of the republic, including three minors, died as a result of the flooding. Additionally, on April 13, 19-year-old volunteer Artem Mikhrabov, who suffered a severe traumatic brain injury while helping residents of the flooded village of Mamedkala, died in the hospital.

By April 17, Dagestan authorities had received more than 190,000 applications for assistance from affected residents.
