The head of a construction company is suspected of embezzlement during school renovations in Malgobek.

The damage amounted to almost 600,000 rubles.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot," in February, a court in Kaspiysk sentenced in absentia the former Deputy Minister of Construction and Housing and Public Utilities of Dagestan, Makhach Aliyev, finding him guilty of multimillion-ruble theft, including during the construction of schools and kindergartens. The official was sentenced to 11 years in prison.

A criminal case has been opened in Ingushetia against the director of a commercial organization for large-scale fraud. "It was established that in March 2023, the director of the LLC entered false information into the work completion reports regarding the execution of a contract for the major renovation of a general education institution in Malgobek," Interfax quotes the republic's Investigative Committee as saying.

According to investigators, due to the inflated cost of the work, the Ingush Ministry of Construction suffered losses of almost 600,000 rubles.

The head of the construction company is charged under Part 3 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code (large-scale fraud). The maximum penalty under this provision of the law is six years' imprisonment.
