A Kaspiysk administration official has been sentenced to a long prison term.

A court in Kaspiysk sentenced the former head of the city's property relations department, Aivar Aliverdiev, to eight years in prison.

"Caucasian Knot" wrote that in April 2025, a court in Makhachkala detained the head of the Kaspiysk property relations department, who was arrested on charges of attempted fraud. Several years earlier, in February 2022, the former head of the Kaspiysk administration's property relations department was accused of illegally selling a plot of land.

The Kaspiysk City Court sentenced the former head of the Kaspiysk property relations department, finding him guilty of abuse of office and large-scale fraud.

The court found that in 2021-2022, an official ordered a local resident to be provided with a plot of land to replace the land seized from her for a water pumping station. The value of the plot provided exceeded the value of the seized plot by more than 5.2 million rubles, but the head of the department attached an "inaccurate expert assessment of the equal value of the properties" to the documents sent to the mayor for signature.

The court also concluded that, while formalizing the procedure for seizing one plot of land and providing its owner with another, the official fraudulently "took possession of a land plot belonging to the woman in Kaspiysk with a market value of over 7 million rubles," the United Press Service of the Courts of Dagestan reported.

The former head of the department was sentenced to eight years in prison and a fine of 500,000 rubles. For two years after his release, he is prohibited from working in state or local government bodies.

According to the records of the Kaspiysk City Court, the convicted person is Aivar Aliverdiev; his case was heard since the summer of 2025. Aliverdiev was put under investigation in December 2024; he headed the department from March 2021 to February 2024, according to data from the counterparty verification website "Chekko."
