A soldier from Kabardino-Balkaria was killed in the SVO zone.

Ruslan Ashev from the Baksan region was killed in combat in Ukraine. Since the beginning of the military operation, at least 386 fighters from Kabardino-Balkaria have been officially recognized as killed in it.

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," by March 13, at least 385 fighters from Kabardino-Balkaria had been officially recognized as killed in the military operation in Ukraine.

In the village of Atazhukino, an award was presented to the family of Ruslan Ashev, who was killed in the military operation, the Baksan District administration reported on its Telegram channel on March 12.

Details of the fighter's biography and death were not provided in the publication, but the officials present at the ceremony were listed by name.

Thus, at least 386 fighters from Kabardino-Balkaria have been officially recognized as killed in the military operation. The "Caucasian Knot" knows the names of 373 of them, and the deaths of another 13 were revealed in a report by the republic's authorities on payments to the families of those killed in 2022.

"Caucasian Knot" maintains a list of names of natives of the North Caucasus and Southern Federal Districts killed in the military operation. The list was compiled based on data officially released by government officials and law enforcement agencies, according to the Caucasian Knot report "Airborne Military District Statistics: Casualties Mounting in Southern Russia."

State awards, memorial plaques, and appearances on Channel One do not guarantee state support for the families of those killed, according to the Caucasian Knot report "Three Comrades Served: How Authorities Are Denying Benefits to Families of Killed Volunteers," which describes the stories of the slain soldiers. "The combat veteran's certificate was issued only because Vasily managed to serve three months in the Airborne Forces under contract," said the widow of one of them.
