The number of Russians evacuated from Iran to Azerbaijan has reached 300.

300 Russian citizens were evacuated across the land border between Iran and Azerbaijan, with more than 2,360 people passing through the checkpoint.

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," from February 28 to March 11, 2,057 people were evacuated from Iran to Azerbaijan, including 362 Azerbaijani citizens and 291 Russian citizens.

The evacuation of Azerbaijani and foreign citizens from Iran continues, Trend reports. As of the evening of March 13, a total of 2,309 people, citizens of various countries, have been evacuated from Iran since February 28.

In particular, 686 citizens of China, 403 of Azerbaijan, and 294 of Russia were evacuated. The list also includes citizens of other countries, including 13 people with Georgian citizenship.

By 7:30 PM on March 14, 60 people were evacuated from Iran to Azerbaijan. The evacuation was carried out through the Astara state border checkpoint. Among those evacuated were three citizens of Azerbaijan, three from Tajikistan, 43 from India, six from Russia, four from Canada, and one employee of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in Iran.

Thus, 300 Russian citizens and 406 Azerbaijani citizens have been evacuated from Iran to Azerbaijan.

As a reminder, on February 28, Israel and the United States began striking Iran. Donald Trump announced the start of a large-scale military operation. In response, Iran began shelling Israel, American military facilities, and civilian targets in the Middle East, according to the Caucasian Knot report "The Impact of the Military Conflict with Iran on the Caucasus."

On March 5, four people were injured in a drone attack on the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. Ilham Aliyev called the attack "a deliberate terrorist act by Iran," and the Azerbaijani army was put on alert.

The drone attack was likely deliberate, but Azerbaijan will initially limit itself to diplomatic and political measures, avoiding direct military escalation, analysts in Baku suggested. Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister stated that the Islamic Republic did not strike Azerbaijan.
