The director of a Rostov plant pleaded guilty to billion-dollar embezzlement.

Alexander Dyachenko, former general director of the Tenth Bearing Plant in Rostov-on-Don, pleaded guilty to a 2.2 billion ruble fraud case involving state defense contracts.

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," the Main Military Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia has completed its investigation into the cases against Alexander Dyachenko, general director of Tenth Bearing Plant LLC (GPZ-10), plant owners Alexey and Lyudmila Kuleshov, former director of economics and finance Nikolai Borisov, and heads of the enterprise's planning and economics department Felix Zakhartsov and Roman Volkov.

Today, the Sovetsky District Court of Rostov-on-Don began hearing the case of Dyachenko, who is accused under Part 4 of Article Article 159 of the Criminal Code ("Fraud"). The prosecutor read out the indictment, RIA Novosti reports.

Alexander Dyachenko, former general director of the Rostov bearing plant GPZ-10, who is accused of fraud in the execution of a state defense contract, has pleaded guilty. "I plead guilty and repent," TASS quotes Dyachenko as saying.

Earlier, the same court began hearings in the embezzlement case against Felix Zakhartsov, financial director of GPZ-10. He also pleaded guilty in full.

It is worth noting that four trials are scheduled in the embezzlement case at GPZ-10. The cases against the general director and his two deputies were separated into a separate proceeding and transferred for special consideration to the Sovetsky District Court of Rostov-on-Don, as they had entered into pre-trial agreements. The case of four other defendants—former head of the 547th Military Representative Office of the Russian Ministry of Defense, Andrei Sukhomlin, former deputy head of Rosstandart, Alexei Kuleshov, and their accomplices—will be heard in the Garrison Military Court in Rostov-on-Don.

"Caucasian Knot" also reported that at the end of 2023, the former director of the G.M. Beriev Taganrog Aviation Scientific and Technical Complex, Yuri Grudinin, was found guilty of abuse of office and sentenced to five years in prison. For the combined sentences, he was sentenced to six years in a general regime penal colony.
