Krasnodar City Duma deputy Timofeev was stripped of his powers early.

The Krasnodar Prosecutor's Office secured the early termination of City Duma deputy Viktor Timofeev's term of office for violating anti-corruption laws.

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," in mid-February, the Russian Prosecutor General's Office filed a lawsuit for the seizure of Krasnodar City Duma deputy Viktor Timofeev's property for state benefit. Three other individuals, including Timofeev's two daughters, are also named as defendants in the case. The Krasnodar Krai Prosecutor General's Office's lawsuit will be heard by the city's Leninsky District Court.

The Krasnodar City Duma deputy, while a beneficiary of a contracting organization, concealed from the authorized commission of the City Duma information about his personal interest in the allocation of funds to finance a municipal contract. His powers have been terminated at the request of the prosecutor's office, the press service of the Krasnodar Krai Prosecutor's Office reported on its Telegram channel on February 26.

This refers to city council deputy Viktor Timofeev, a source in law enforcement told RBC Krasnodar.

On the afternoon of February 26, Timofeev wrote on his Telegram channel about his resignation from the city parliament. "I am informing you that I am terminating my service in the Krasnodar City Duma. I am grateful for your trust, cooperation, and active position in the improvement of our Central District. I want to emphasize that I have nothing to reproach myself for before my constituents and the residents of Krasnodar," he said in a statement.

It was previously reported that Inna and Inessa Timofeev, as well as Elena Vasilenko, were named as defendants in the case concerning the seizure of property for the benefit of the state. KGS-Avtotsentr LLC, KGS-Mol LLC, and KGS LLC have been named as third parties, the publication clarified.

Viktor Timofeev was born in Krasnodar in 1969. He holds two higher education degrees – a mechanical engineer and a lawyer, and a PhD in law. From 2005 to 2018, he served as a deputy of the 4th, 5th, and 6th convocations of the City Duma. From 2020 to 2025, he was a member of the Krasnodar Public Chamber, holding the position of deputy chairman. Timofeev currently manages a large regional transport company with branches in the Krasnodar Krai and the LPR, according to BFM Kuban.

"Caucasian Knot" also reported that the Krasnodar court received a lawsuit from the Prosecutor General's Office demanding the transfer of land, houses, and business shares belonging to former State Duma deputy Rizvangadzhi Isaev and his relatives to the state. The total value of the property exceeds 10 billion rubles.
