A mother of many children from Ingushetia has been awarded the title of "Mother Heroine."

Khadizhat Dzakhkieva, a mother of ten from the village of Inarki, has received the title of "Mother Heroine," despite having been rejected three times by officials.

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," the family of Khadizhat and Maksharip Dzakhkieva, who are raising 10 children, submitted applications for the title of "Mother Heroine" three times, but received formal replies from Ingush authorities without any explanation. The head of the family is a combat veteran and retired Interior Ministry employee.

Khadizhat Dzakhkieva from Ingushetia received the title of Mother Heroine. She was also awarded the title by two mothers of many children from Dagestan and one from the Rostov Region, according to a decree issued by Vladimir Putin. The title was awarded "for significant contributions to strengthening the institution of the family and raising children," according to a document dated January 28 and published on the Kremlin website.

Khadizhat Dzakhkieva is a housewife and pensioner living in the village of Inarki in the Malgobek District. The family has ten children – eight girls and two boys. One daughter works as a kindergarten teacher, three more are housewives, and three are students. The youngest daughter and sons attend school, according to Fortanga.

It was previously reported that the Dzakhkiev family of 12 is unable to obtain benefits from the Ingush government and is forced to live solely on Maksharip's pension. He also repeatedly appealed to the authorities to provide the family with a plot of land for a peasant farm, but the Malgobek State Unitary Enterprise reported that there was no available arable land in the area, the publication reported in 2019.

By Decree of the President of the Russian Federation of August 15, 2022, No. 558 "On Certain Issues of Improving the State Awards System of the Russian Federation," Heroine Mothers are entitled to a payment of 1 million rubles.

On November 28, 2025, the law "On the Provision of Social Guarantees to Women Awarded the Title of 'Mother Heroine'" was adopted. Under the law, Russian citizens with ten or more children awarded the title of "Mother Heroine" can choose the necessary support measures starting January 1. These include social benefits and a monthly cash payment. The monthly payment is 72,403.79 rubles. Those who choose to receive the social payment as a "Mother Heroine" retain the right to receive some of the benefits. In addition, women with this title can receive an additional payment of 36,500 rubles if they are retired and eligible for a work experience recalculation, according to the law.

As of February 1, payments to Mother Heroines have been indexed, reaching almost 76,500 rubles, the Ingush Ministry of Labor announced on its Telegram channel on January 27.
