The seizure of property from former Kuban judge Chernov has been approved.

The cassation court refused to change the decision to confiscate the property of the former chairman of the Krasnodar Regional Court, Alexander Chernov, in favor of the state.

As "Caucasian Knot" reported, last August, the court, at the request of the Prosecutor General's Office of Russia, confiscated assets worth 13 billion rubles from the former chairman of the Krasnodar Regional Court, Alexander Chernov.

The cassation court of general jurisdiction refused to change the decision to confiscate the property of the former chairman of the Krasnodar Regional Court, Alexander Chernov, in favor of the state, at the request of the Prosecutor General's Office, his relatives and trusted persons. The Cassation Court, like the Krasnogorsk City Court and the Moscow Regional Court before it, agreed with the prosecutor's office's arguments that Chernov violated anti-corruption legislation by illegally combining commercial activity with his work as a judge, Kommersant reported on January 30.

The cassation appeal was filed by Chernov's granddaughter, Anastasia Ryazanskaya, who is named as one of the defendants in the case.

Previously, the "Caucasian Knot" reported that in November, the Central District Court of Sochi discontinued the criminal prosecution of Svetlana Novikova, who was a co-defendant in the case of the former chairman of the Krasnodar Regional Court, Alexander Chernov, due to the expiration of the statute of limitations.
