A fighter from Dagestan was killed in the SVO zone.

Saidbeg Abdulmalikov from Khasavyurt was killed in combat. Since the beginning of the Russian operation in Ukraine, authorities have officially recognized at least 1,781 servicemen from Dagestan as killed there.

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," by January 23, officials had officially recognized at least 1,780 fighters from Dagestan as killed in Ukraine.

The Khasavyurt administration named the next Dagestan soldier killed in Ukraine, reporting the presentation of a posthumous award to his relatives.

Khasavyurt Mayor Korgoli Korgoliyev and Chairman of the City Assembly of Deputies Khadzhimurad Umakhanov presented the Zhukov Medal to the wife and sister of Saidbeg Abdulmalikov, a deceased participant in the special military operation.

Previously, district authorities reported the deaths of Arslan Kabayev and Arslan Batayev, who were killed during the military operation.

Thus, at least 1,781 servicemen from Dagestan have been officially recognized as killed on the Ukrainian front.

Northern Military District statistics: losses are mounting for southern Russia

"Caucasian Knot" maintains a list of names of natives of the North Caucasus and Southern Federal Districts killed in the military operation. The list was compiled in accordance with current laws and based on information provided by officials—from the governor to the head of the village, as well as representatives of law enforcement agencies.

In December 2025, it became known that Eskender Gasimov, also from the village of Jilihur, was killed in the combat zone. In early January, the Rutul district administration reported another fellow countryman killed in Ukraine: Ferman Bayramov, was buried in the village of Kala.

According to the "Caucasian Knot," by January 19, government and security officials had officially recognized over 8,500 fighters from southern Russia as killed in the military operation in Ukraine: at least 4,194 fighters from the North Caucasus Federal District and 4,310 from the Southern Federal District were officially recognized as killed in the military operation in Ukraine. Dagestan ranks first among the regions of the North Caucasus Federal District in the number of those killed, whose names have been officially released by the authorities. Dagestan's head, Sergey Melikov, was the first government official to announce back in February 2022 that a Russian soldier had been killed in Ukraine, acknowledging the death of officer Nurmagomed Gadzimagomedov.

The "Caucasian Knot" also reported that 18-year-old Said Murtazaliev from Dagestan was tortured by security forces in the Moscow region to sign a contract with the Ministry of Defense. In the combat zone, commanders forced him to collect money, after which the young man was declared missing. "I myself was sent to the assault, where comrade 'Spartak' said he had received an order to erase me," Murtazaliev says in his final video message sent to his mother.
