Gukovo residents' complaints about a lack of water have attracted the attention of the prosecutor's office.

The prosecutor's office has launched an investigation into a water main failure in the town of Gukovo, which left local residents without water. A notice has been issued to the mayor of Gukovo regarding the inadequate water supply.

As reported by "Kavkazsky Uzel," the mining towns of Gukovo and Zverevo in the Rostov region were without water for six days. Authorities, reporting on the progress of repairs, stated that water had been restored, but water was not reaching residents on the upper floors. Residents reported being forced to melt snow and buy water.

The Rostov Region Prosecutor's Office has taken measures to respond to a water main failure that has left residents of the city of Gukovo, as well as villages in the Kamensky and Krasnosulinsky districts, without water for an extended period, the press service of the Rostov Region Prosecutor's Office reported today on its Telegram channel.

According to the agency, a notice has been issued to the head of Gukovo regarding the unsatisfactory organization of water delivery to the city's residents. In addition, a notice has been issued to the head of the Rostov Region branch of the "Water Supply Systems Development Department" demanding a recalculation of the fee for the poor-quality utility service.

"The materials from the prosecutor's office's investigation have been sent to the investigative body to determine the issue of criminal prosecution. The prosecution of responsible officials under Part 1 of Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (provision of services that do not meet safety requirements) 1 , the department said in a statement.

Residents of Gukovo, in the comments under the administration's post on January 22 about the completion of the work, indicated that not all houses were receiving water.

Local residents also expressed outrage in the comments under the post by Antonina Pshenichnaya, the Minister of Housing and Communal Services of the Rostov Region, pointing out that water is not provided everywhere Water delivery to residents.
