A school security guard in Derbent was detained for attacking a student.

Students at a Derbent school were playing snowballs and hit an elderly security guard, who responded by stabbing one of the teenagers in the neck. The security guard has been detained, and investigators are conducting an investigation.

The Derbent Interdistrict Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Republic of Dagestan is conducting an investigation into the alleged assault of a schoolgirl.

According to the department, law enforcement learned of the incident "while monitoring social media," according to a report published on January 19.

The investigation was prompted by an incident that occurred in Derbent near School No. 17. A group of teenagers pelted the 75-year-old school security guard with snowballs. The man then stabbed one of the students, according to the Telegram channel "Totko Fakty."

The man, who is an employee of a private security company, has been detained by police. It is noted that he was not at work on the day of the incident, and the incident itself occurred outside the school grounds.

The Telegram channel "ChP Dagestan" reports that the schoolchildren accidentally hit the security guard with a snowball. One of the students called an ambulance. The victim, 16, suffered minor injuries and received medical attention. He is currently at home.
