Doctors described the condition of the victims in Zayukovo as serious.

One of the four people injured in the gas explosion and fire in Kabardino-Balkaria is in critical condition, while the others are in moderate condition, the clinic reported.

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," on January 18, four people were taken to the Republican Clinical Hospital from the village of Zayukovo in the Baksan District, where an explosion and fire occurred in a garage after a car's gas cylinder depressurized.

The condition of one of the four patients is assessed as critical, while the other three are in moderate condition, said Artur Khadzhiev, head of the burns department at the Republican Clinical Hospital.

The doctor noted that the patients were injured "as a result of a gas cylinder explosion." "All patients received comprehensive medical care and anti-shock therapy. One patient continues to receive anti-shock therapy in the intensive care unit," Gazeta Yuga quotes him as saying.

The Kabardino-Balkarian Prosecutor's Office has launched an investigation into the fire in the village of Zayukovo, the agency's press service reported.

"According to preliminary reports, a gas cylinder in a garage depressurized, causing a fire. There are injuries. The investigation into the circumstances of the incident is under the control of the supervisory agency," the prosecutor's office said in a Telegram post.

The report did not provide information about an explosion preceding the fire.
