Private homes damaged during drone attacks in Rostov Oblast

Salsk and three districts of the Rostov Region were attacked by drones, damaging several private homes in the village of Semeno-Kamyshenskaya.

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," on the night of January 2, drones were spotted in three districts of the Rostov Region and over the waters of Taganrog Bay. Regional authorities reported no casualties or damage on the ground.

Rostov Region Governor Yuri Slyusar reported on the results of repelling the drone attack overnight. According to the regional governor, the attack had been ongoing since the evening of Friday, January 2.

“UAVs were destroyed and suppressed in Salsk, Millerovsky, Chertkovsky, and Kasharsky districts. Preliminary reports indicate no casualties,” he wrote on his Telegram channel.

Residents of the Semeno-Kamyshenskaya settlement in the Chertovsky district felt the effects of the attack – according to Slyusar, the windows of several private homes and the electrical wires on one of the towers were damaged. “Power was quickly restored,” the official noted.

“And the local administration wasn't even notified about the drones being repelled, the city was so loud,” wrote a Telegram user named Vita under the governor's post. She did not specify which city she was referring to.

The Russian Ministry of Defense, in turn, reported that two drones were shot down overnight over the Rostov Region, and another was destroyed over the Sea of Azov. Additionally, six UAVs were shot down overnight over the Krasnodar Region, and another over Adygea, RIA Novosti reports.

The "Caucasian Knot" also reported that at the end of December, Rostov Region authorities determined the compensation payment procedure to car owners whose property was damaged as a result of drone attacks. The resolution provides for payments of up to 500,000 rubles per damaged vehicle and up to a million rubles per destroyed vehicle.
