In the Buinaksk District, a rockfall caused a gas pipeline failure, leaving two villages without gas. Despite poor weather conditions and the night, workers restored gas service to the villagers.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot," on January 2, villages in the mountainous regions of Dagestan were left without electricity due to snowfalls, and repair crews are unable to reach them. In the Tlyaratinsky District, snowdrifts cut off transport links with several villages, and vehicles are blocked on the highway in the Tsuntinsky District.

In Dagestan, a rockfall on the evening of January 2 damaged a high-pressure inter-village gas pipeline, Kommersant reports, citing the press service of the republic's Ministry of Energy.

According to the newspaper, the villages of Karamakhi and Kadar in the Buinaksky District were left without gas as a result of the accident. The gas leak has been eliminated.
